Selling FAQ'S

Before you sell

Before you begin entering your listing details, you’ll need to have registered a free account with Karolo. Photogragh your item, sign in and begin entering information for your listing
This is your decision; when entering your listing details you can specify if you require pick-up or are willing to deliver.

Add your listing

To upload an item to Karolo's listings, first login or register an account. Once logged in, go to the 'Sell' page and follow the step by step process. Upgrade from a free listing if you wish to maximise the exposure of your item, agree to the selling rules and then click 'Upload'
To pay for an listing upgrade you need to purchase a credit via ‘My Karolo’. 5 credits for Gold, 3 for Silver. Select the quantity of credits you require and click ‘Checkout’. You will be redirected to Paypal to continue the purchase.
Gold: Gold listings maximise the exposure of your item, dramatically increasing the chances of a higher sale price. Your item is entered into rotation within 'Item Spotlight' on the Karolo homepage as well as other areas within the site. Show detailed views of your item with 4 additional photo's. Your items stands out on the listing page with a gold band and orange, bold title.
Silver:
2 additional photo's, bold text and a silver highlighted listing sets your item apart from the rest.
Bronze:
Most cost effective listing, enabling you to show 1 photo and all relevant details
Imagine if you were searching for your item on Google, what words would you include in your search? Be concise but make sure to describe the main attributes of your item within the title; what is it, what material is it made from, is the brand a particular selling point of your item? Within the description go into as much detail as you can. In the majority of cases the buyer will see your item before they pay for it, so be honest about its’ condition to prevent conflict between buyer and seller.
To encourage transparent selling on Karolo you cannot set a reserve price. Enter the minimum you are willing to accept as the 'Start Bid'

After you submit your listing

Karolo will automatically send you email notifications regarding any activity on your listing (Please add ' This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ' to your safe senders list). You can also login to ‘My Karolo’ to track all your auction activity, both as a buyer and seller.
If your item does not sell, you can resubmit your listing for free. However, before you resubmit, consider why your item did not sell; does the photograph do your item justice? Have you effectively sold the item to potential buyers within the title and description? You may also want to consider upgrading your listing type to make your item stand out.
If your item does not sell, you can resubmit your listing for free. Login to 'My Karolo' and find the item under 'Items I've Sold'. Under the 'Action' column, click resubmit. You will then be taken to the 'Sell' page where you are required to re-enter certain fields. Once complete, press 'Upload' and your item will be re-submitted into our listings for free. No credits will be removed from your account.
If you have made a simple mistake, you can report it to Karolo by clicking on 'Listing Change Request' within the Contact Karolo menu opposite. IMPORTANT -This report must be sent within 24 hours of listing submission and is subject to review by a Karolo administrator. Karolo can not guarantee that all requests will be granted and has the right to reject any requests deemed misleading to other Karolo users.
You can cancel your listing unless a bid has been placed on the item. IMPORTANT: Once a bid has been placed on your item, your are obliged to sell the item to the winning bidder at the price stated at the close of the auction. To cancel simply navigate to your item from within 'My Karolo', click on the item to bring up the detailed listing and click 'Cancel' 

After you sell your item

Once your listing has sold, an email will be sent to your registered email address including the final sale price and contact details for the buyer. You can also send a message to the buyer though ‘My Karolo’.

Log into ‘My Karolo’ and click on the ‘Items I’ve Sold’ tab. Find the item in question and click on the buyer to send a message to organise payment and pickup/delivery of your item.
